Coat of Arms Design
Two counties. One shared identity.
When Vestfold and Telemark were set to merge into a single county in 2020, a new coat of arms was needed to unite their history, culture and identity across former boundaries. Residents and schoolchildren from both counties were invited to contribute their ideas.

Working closely with the county administration, we refined the winning idea into a coat of arms that brings together historical symbols in a simple, timeless expression. Two golden acanthus scrolls meet the prow of a Viking ship against a red background. The colours symbolise authority and wisdom, while the design bridges the cultural heritage of the two regions. A dignified symbol of unity, belonging and a new beginning.
